About the property

Palazzo Nannavecchia is centrally located in the historic town of Ceglie Messapica. It is a unique property dating back to the 1600’s and is of architectural and historic importance.

The Palazzo measures 1000sqm and is situated over 4 floors. Although the property has not been used for many years a renovation project would see it transformed into a boutique hotel or a large family residence.

The Palazzo has a wealth of original features on every floor with high vaulted ceilings and stellar ceilings throughout. There is an imposing grand fireplace with the original kitchen dating back centuries and still intact, a small theatre and there is even a church where private religious ceremonies were held.

Starting on the ground floor, there are a series of high ceiling rooms which formerly housed the stables and from here stairs lead up to a mezzanine level. The residential quarters are accessed via a separate entrance and a historic doorway displaying the family motto leads to the first floor and a series of interconnecting rooms. The second floor level houses a further series of interconnecting rooms and also this is where once there was a small theatre. From here stairs lead to the roof terrace from where there are magnificent views over the town of Ceglie Messapica and the surrounding countryside.

To better understand the layout, plans of the Palazzo are available on request.
